3.4 Book Creation
Users can initiate the process of creating new books in ARTutor by selecting the ’Create’ option. Upon doing so, they are presented with a form (Figure 17) that prompts them to input a range of details about the new book:
Figure 17: Book Creation form
a) Title: The name of the book.
b) Description (Optional): A concise overview or summary, encapsulating the essence of the book’s content.
c) Labels (Optional): Keywords or tags that help categorize and identify the book’s content and themes.
d) Book Category: The specific genre or category under which the book is classified.
e) Language: The primary language in which the book’s content is written.
f) Knowledge Field: The specific area of expertise or academic field to which the book pertains.
g) Education Level: The targeted educational level for which the book is suitable, such as primary, secondary, or higher education.
h) Book Cover Image: A pivotal element, this image file acts as the book’s front cover. The cover image should be clear, high-quality, and reflective of the book’s theme and content.
i) Book File Upload: The digital version of the book, which must be uploaded in PDF format. The file size is limited to 20MB. This PDF is integral as it forms the basis for the content that will be augmented by ARTutor.
j) Geographic Location Constraint (Optional): This feature offers a unique approach for books that require the reader’s physical presence in a specific geographic location to access their augmented content. Authors interested in applying this geographic constraint can easily activate it by selecting the ”Activate location” option, indicated by ticking the box provided. They have the flexibility to specify the desired location either by inputting geographical coordinates directly or by clicking the nearby yellow icon, which opens a detailed world map for precise location pinpointing (Figure 18). Furthermore, the radius within which users can access the book’s augmented content is customizable, allowing authors to define both the location and the extent of the accessible area. This innovative feature enhances the creation of distinct, locationcentric experiences and gives authors granular control over the geographical reach of their content.
